HYBRID SALON

Introducing our new business model - OAK BRUSH is now a hybrid salon!

What is a hybrid salon?

A hybrid salon structure means that we have different options for stylists to join our space.

Traditionally, we were only a commission based salon - employing stylists that receive a commission on the services performed.

Now, we offer both commission employment and booth rental! We can either manage the business for our stylists (commission), or offer independent stylists the space to run their business within ours (booth rental).

What is an independent stylist?

An independent stylist is their own boss! They determine their service menu, pricing, working hours, products used and how they run all other aspects of their business.

Not every stylist wishes to be independent, but it’s an option we support!

Independent stylists rent their chair with us at OAK BRUSH Salon, and manage their business within ours. We select and welcome independents that align with our culture and values - this ensures all clients are in good hands with any stylist in our space.

Can a commission stylist transition to an independent stylist?

Yes! You’re welcome to join our salon as a commission stylist to start.

Learn our culture, build your client list, recognize what it takes to manage a business…then let us know when you’re ready to make the change!

Why did OAK BRUSH make this change?

Salon owner, Lauryn, recognized that salon businesses are changing and she wants OAK BRUSH to embrace it! By changing our business model, we can now welcome stylists to our space that maybe couldn’t before - stylists who are established in their business but need a salon space to work.

One thing OAK BRUSH is doing is constantly evolving - finding what works, and what doesn’t, in a small town salon business.

Already we’re seeing the benefits of change, welcoming two wonderful independent stylists to our space!

Where can I learn more about booth renting at OAK BRUSH?
